Release Notes: CloudLinux OS 8.4

We’re pleased to announce that a new CloudLinux OS 8.4 is now available. This new CloudLinux OS 8.4 release includes the following.

Changelog

  • Secure Boot is now fully supported
  • The kernel is updated to version 4.18.0-305.lve.el8.x86_64 to match RHEL 8.4
  • LVE kernel module is updated to version 2.0-32.el8.x86_64
  • Minimal ISO has been added and it now contains the BaseOS repository
  • DVD ISO now contains BaseOS and AppStream repositories
  • The following new module streams were added:
    • Python 3.9
    • SWIG 4.0
    • Subversion 1.14
    • Redis 6
    • PostgreSQL 13
    • MariaDB 10.5
  • Compiler updates:
    • GCC Toolset 10
    • LLVM Toolset 11.0.0
    • Rust Toolset 1.49.0
    • Go Toolset 1.15.7

How to upgrade

Due to the changed repository structure, you should update the cloudlinux-release package first by running the following command:

dnf install cloudlinux-release

After the cloudlinux-release package upgrade is finished, do the full system upgrade using the following command:

dnf upgrade
