Automatic CloudLinux kernel hybridization for a modern hardware

Kernel-hybridization

We at CloudLinux are always on the cutting edge of technology and quickly react to its fluctuations.

And I’m here to explain new changes in the CloudLinux cldeploy script. As you may know, the cldeploy script converts existing servers from CentOS 6.x, 7.x, and 8.x to CloudLinux OS 6, 7, and 8. You can read more about it in the documentation.

Some modern hardware doesn’t support CloudLinux 7 kernel and for such hardware, the cldeploy script v.1.61 and later converts from CentOS 7.x to CloudLinux 7 and then automatically converts CloudLinux 7 to CloudLinux 7 Hybrid.

Automatic hybridization will be performed for the AMD processors with the following CPU families:

  • Zen / Zen+ / Zen 2
  • Hygon Dhyana
  • Zen 3

Note: If you have an old cldeploy script, the next execution provides the ability to download a new updated script.
