CloudLinux OS ELevate for non-panel system released to Beta. Plan your 7 to 8 version migration now.

It wasn't possible-until now. Easily migrate between CloudLinux OS versions.

Remember the last time you performed mass migration? Even simply changing a workplace takes tons of effort and strength–moral and physical. And it’s a hundred times more important when we talk about customer-facing products and services when an administrator should migrate servers manually or take extended support.

As CloudLinux OS 7 will end support in 2024, we decided to take this opportunity and prepare for migration now and make it smooth and painless in the future.

And today, we are happy to introduce the ELevate project for the non-panel version of CloudLinux OS 7 (cPanel and Plesk coming soon).

The CloudLinux ELevate–built on top of the AlmaLinux ELevate project–aims to provide a streamlined method of upgrading CloudLinux 7 systems to CloudLinux 8 in place. And it uses the Leapp utility as the main upgrade tool.

Migration plan

The CloudLinux ELevate project is currently in beta. That’s why we recommend you have a backup and/or a snapshot of your system before proceeding with the upgrade to avoid any issues, with third-party packages and/or repositories.

We highly recommend performing a trial run in a sandbox to verify that migration worked as expected before you attempt to migrate a production system.

Please pay attention that the following ELlevate release supports only non-panel versions of CloudLinux OS! We disclaim responsibility for incorrect and improper use of the script. The support team will not be able to help you if you have not followed all the steps described in the documentation or converted the server with the control panel.
