The new CloudLinux release introduces several updates centered around Ubuntu® 22.04 LTS. Here are the key details:

 

Ubuntu® 22.04 LTS Base

The latest version is based on Ubuntu® 22.04 LTS, offering long-term support and modern compatibility.

This update is primarily designed to be compatible with cPanel, ensuring seamless integration and optimal performance for users of this popular web hosting control panel.

 

Licensing and Pricing

CloudLinux Subsystem for Ubuntu® now adopts the same CLN-based licensing scheme as standard CloudLinux. Additionally, CloudLinux Subsystem for Ubuntu® is now a paid product, following the pricing structure of the normal CloudLinux.

 

Edition Support

CloudLinux Subsystem for Ubuntu® 22.04 LTS supports the same editions as regular CloudLinux:

  • Shared PRO
  • Solo
  • Admin
  • Shared (aka Legacy)

 

Component Availability

CloudLinux components on Ubuntu® 22.04 LTS remain consistent with those available on Ubuntu® 20.04.

In addition, the full range of the CloudLinux OS Pro components becomes available for the CloudLinux Subsystem for Ubuntu® with this release.

 

PHP Selector

The release includes the PHP Selector, offering the following options:

  • ALT-PHP (Hardened PHP): Versions 7.3 to 8.4
  • EA-PHP: Versions 7.3 to 8.4

Missing Features in Initial Release

  • Python and Node.js Selectors: These are not available for the first release, but can be added based on user demand.

 

Deprecations

  • Ubuntu® 20 Support: Support for Ubuntu® 20.04 will be discontinued. Existing repositories will remain accessible, but no new CloudLinux package releases will be issued, except for critical security fixes.
